vt. 辞职；放弃；使顺从

记 联想记忆：re(再) sign(签名)→第一次签名是就职，第二次签名就是辞职→辞职

例 Due to the deterioration of his physical condition, he resigned from the directorship last month. 由于身体状况恶化，他上个月辞去了董事职务。

搭 resign from/as 辞去/resign oneself to sth. 听任，顺从

派 resigned adj. 逆来顺受的，顺从的 (例：a resigned sigh 无可奈何的叹息)
